ORIGINAL 1928 FORD MODEL AA REDLANDS CALIFORNIA, ORANGE GROVE ORCHARD SPAYER
This is a beautiful piece of historical yard art. A Redlands California Orange grove orchard sprayer truck that is as complete and unmolested
as it was when it was reitred from service to the Redlands orchard barn in 1948.
With the exception of the auxiliary spray pump motor (probably a “hit & miss”); it is a hundred percent original, complete, and unmolested
including all of the “patinaized dirt” that has “grown” quite heavily on most of the running gear over the years! Too neat!
It has an auxiliary 2 speed trans, in the drive train! This item alone, for the right collector could be worth more than the whole price of
this Model AA!
Of many of the original features of this unit, besides the 2 speed trans, is the unusual and factory original “cantilever” rear spring
sytem. Not very bitchen-huh?
Oh-yeah, besides the beautiful patina of the tire “sidewalls” check out what’s left of the orig. Yellow and black license plate. You will notice
about one third of it has been eaten away by the chemical spray over the years. How about the orig. 1948 metal “yr. tag” still on the plate! Too cool-patina and more patina! Wow!
Is it in running condition now? No. Because the engine assembly is original and one hundred percent complete. Could it be made to run?
probably? Don’t see why not?
Well anyways the pictures you see should tell a little more of this gems story. Thanks,
Joe
