BEAUTIFUL 1941 FORD CARSON TOP RADICAL CUSTOM
After eleven years to create this beauty it was finally finished just in time for entry in the 2006 California Grand National Roadster Show.
You will notice in the show pictures that it was staged in a very exclusive 360 degree solo display. Of the several hundred entries in the show only a
handful qualified for one of these very limited and prestigious display sites.
The accompanying spec. sheet pretty much tells of the construction and modifications of this car. Some of the most difficult problem areas to be
addressed were the super stepped GM clipped chassis by Bob Wesbury. The body was also channeled. The “fade away fenders” required widening each of them by 3 3/4 inches. Our design of creating the unique “fast back”
style also required exstensive rear metal fabrication to acheive the end result. We also had to figure how to form the curved channel for the “swoopy” window design. (Are they too stylish or what?)
Question for the viewer. Are the skirts stock? Are they mounted outside the fender as is common? Are they flush mounted? What we did in this skirt area
has never been done before.
For about six months prior to painting and looking for that certain color we cocktailed a bazillion colors and then shot some test samples. After
coming up with that “special green” we then added the magic amount of, get this, “Blue, Opal, and Green Murano Pearls”. Wait till you see the created color effect . The net result of trick paint mixing and
application will be most appreciated in good show light or in sunlight. Wow!
For a too cool custom effect how do you like our “one only” engine compartment design? (Boy lots of english wheel talent here.)
Remember, the flavor of my design in customs is that of those that were created by the great customizers of the 40”s between the WW2 and Korean Wars. eg;
Harry Westergard, Gil & Al Ayala, Neal Emory & Clay Jenson, Sam Barris, Gene Winfield, Joe Balion, Eddie Martinez, Bill Hines, Dick Dean, Dick Bertolucci. The contemporary talents in old school design
include, but not limited to, Bill Reasoner, Richard Zocchi, Paul Haper, Joel & Cain Jimenez, Bill Ross, the innovative Gary “Chopit” Fioto, the silent one Keith Dean, Roger O’Dell, Bob Dutton, and Ken
Gennings. Offered at
$89K
